Tarangire National Park, where you will enjoy the game viewing in this unique habitat that is home to the largest elephant populations in Northern Tanzania, along with vast number of zebras, giraffes, wildebeests, impalas, waterbucks, Grant gazelles, dik diks, jackals, lions, leopards, cheetahs, kudus, fringe eared Oryx, eland, wild dogs, hyenas and hippos.

Two geological rifts run through the area that define the boundaries of the Great Rift Valley. Volcanic activity in the Ngorongoro Highlands were formed 3 million years ago. One of these, Oldonyo Lengai (“Mountain of God” to the Maasai ), is still active. Over millennia, the ash and dust from each eruption has been carried by the winds to form the fertile soils of the Serengeti plain.
